1.18 is a major update to Java Edition that completely overhauls the End, released in June 24, 2021. This update was announced on Minecraft Live 2020. TheRandomBlock (talk) 18:57, April 14, 2020 (UTC)

Blocks[]

Block of Amethyst

  • Can be crafted with 9 Amethysts
  • Can be used to power beacons.
  • Cannot burn in lava, tar, purified soda or fire
  • Powerful enough to survive a wither explosion

Block of Ender Quartz

  • Can be crafted with 9 Ender Quartz
  • Cannot burn in lava, tar, purified soda or fire
  • Powerful enough to survive a wither explosion

Bubble Block

  • Is simply translucent, animated and generates in End Bubblefield.
  • If an entity walks on top of a Bubble Block it will pop
  • Crafted with 9 popped bubbles

Bubble Brick

  • A new transparent animated block
  • If an entity walks on top of Bubble Bricks they will pop

Bubblebug Nest

  • Made with 6 planks (3 on the top row and 3 on the back row), an Eye of Ender, and 2 End Rods.
  • Can hold up to 5 Bubblebugs
  • Look like purple vines growing upwards with a cream colored block on top
  • The Bubblebug Nest is the only block in the game that is 3 blocks tall

Chest

  • Added 7 new types: Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Crimson, Warped, Decayed, and Purified.

Decayed and Purified Tylium

  • Generate in both Tyliations and the Tyliation Fields
  • Decayed variant is purple.
  • Purified variant is green.

Decayed and Purified Lindigo

  • Generate in both Tyliations
  • Can be placed on flower pots, dirt, coarse dirt, farmland, podzol, nylium, Crumbling Endstone, soul soil, Tylium, and grass blocks
  • Bone meal can be used on Lindigo to grow it into the respective huge Lindigo when placed on the same type of Tylium
  • Unlike mushrooms, Lindigo cannot spread
  • Lindigo is based off a real life Fungus
  • Decayed is purple, Purified is green

Decayed and Purified Lindigo Planks

  • Does not burn.
  • Crafted from the respective stem.
  • Can be used to craft respective slabs, stairs, fences, fence gates, pressure plates, signs, buttons, doors, chests and trapdoors.
  • Cannot be used as furnace fuel, since they do not burn.

Decayed and Purified Lindigo Stem

  • Blocks that comprise the trunks of Huge Lindigo
  • Have a top texture similar to regular log blocks.
  • Can be placed directionally, similarly to logs.
  • Do not burn.
  • Have respective stripped variants.

Defyed End Rod

  • Made with 2 glowstones or sea lanterns and an Eye of Ender in a column, make sure that the Eye of Ender is at the middle.
  • Has more luminescency (16) than an End Rod (14).

End Sprouts

  • A green variation of Nether Sprouts.
  • Spawns only in Purified Tyliation

Endstone Crystal

  • Makes up End stallagmites.
  • Generates in End Beaches and Shale Deltas.
  • Can be placed directionally, similarly to logs.

Hanging Bubblebug Nest

  • Made with a Bubblebug Nest and a Chain
  • A variant of the Bubblebug Nest that hangs on Huge Lindigo and Barren Trees.

Hyphae

  • Added Decayed and Purified variants.

Mint Bush

  • A new plant found in the Purified Tyliation and Tyliation Fields
  • Have 4 stages of growth
    • When right-clicked on its final stage it drops Mint Leaves

Mint Block

  • Used for decoration
  • Crafted with 9 Mints
Three New Mountain Blocks

Ice Bricks, Snow Bricks, Loose Snow

New mountain blocks

  • Those are the Ice Bricks, Snow Bricks and Loose Snow.

Nidiformis Liquid

  • A new liquid that can be shown in End Wastes.
  • Very dangerous liquid, when in it, it gives you Poison II (when got out of the liquid, it lasts for 5 minutes) and Nausea (when got out of the liquid, it lasts for 7 minutes).
  • Disintegrates items when thrown in
  • Ignites TNT when placed in it
  • Burns flammable objects when placed in or near it
  • Turns grass blocks into dirt
  • Turns stone into cobblestone
  • Turns dirt, farmland, and grass paths into coarse dirt
  • Can be collected with a bucket or bottle

Ores

  • Added amethyst, ender quartz and purpur ores.

Purified Soda

  • A liquid found in the Purified Tyliation and the Tyliation Fields
  • If a sponge is used on it, it leaves bubbles behind
  • If it touches a mint block, it explodes and makes a fizzing sound
    • It does the same with all other liquid blocks

Purified Weeping Vines

  • Look like the Weeping Vines from crimson forest in Nether
  • Climbable green vines
  • Found in the Purified Tyliation and the Tyliation Fields

Rotting Vines

  • Look like the Twisting Vines from warped forest in Nether
  • Climbable purple vines
  • Found in the Decayed Tyliation

Shale

  • Spawns as the ground in the Shale Deltas
  • Can be crafted into polished variant
  • Same functionality as andesite

Spoul Spore

  • Can hold up to 5 Spouls, similar to the Beehive.
  • You can collect Haunted Jam from them.

Staring Chest

  • Crafted with an Ender Chest and a Staring Heart
  • Does the same thing as Ender Chests
  • It has only 9 storage slots
  • The eye on the texture stares at you.
  • If you die the 9 items in your hotbar will teleport to a random Staring Chest, but only if its in the same dimension.
  • If, when you die, and all Staring Chests can not fit any more items in them, the items won't teleport into the Staring Chest

Stem

  • Added new variants: Decayed and Purified.
  • Can all be stripped.

Tar

  • Can be found as small pools in the Decayed Tyliation.
  • Is a liquid.
  • Most entities take 3 damage every half-second while in contact with Tar.
    • Deals twice as much damage as lava.
  • Can burn Netherite.

Mobs[]

Bubblebug

  • Spawn in both Tyliations, End Bubblefield, End Wastes and Chorus Barrens
  • Neutral mobs with the appearance of a Firefly which have 7 hp
  • When attacking, it's tail grows up to twice the size and glows
    • Its attack consists of flying towards you then turning around and stinging you, similar to a bee
  • Bubblebugs take more damage if they are attacked while their tail is not glowing
    • If attacked on the tail when glowing, the attacker will get electrocuted, dealing 5 hp of damage
  • It has an idle animation where it chases it's tail
  • It has a chance of teleporting while being attacked
    • When an arrow is shot at a Bubblebug, it teleports
  • Drops 2-5 Popped Bubbles when killed

Crayfish

  • A new mob which spawns in Canyon, Steppes, Beach and Ocean biomes.
    • The oceans which the crayfish appears are: ocean, warm ocean, lukewarm ocean, and cold ocean.
  • Crayfish has 13 hp and is neutral.
  • Only attacks if attacked.
  • Its attack is trying to poison.
    • When an entity gets damage from the crayfish, it gives the Poison IV effect for 3 seconds and the Weakness effect for 57 seconds.
  • It has an idle animation, swinging its tail.
  • Drops nothing on death.

Decayebarnk

  • Spawns in End Undergrounds
  • Neutral mobs which have 10 hp
  • Does not attack players
  • Drops Ectoplasm and rarely Decayebarnk Shells on death.

Lindigium

  • Basically a smaller version of a Huge Lindigo on four legs.
  • Has 40 hp and is basically hostile to player.
    • Becomes passive if the player wears an Amethyst or Endium armor.
  • Since hostile, you can trade them in the same way as a Piglin, but replacing the gold with ender quartz.
  • Drops Purified Lindigo and End Sprouts on death.

World Generation[]

Biomes

  • Purified Tyliation
    • A green colored variation of the Decayed Tyliation, but with a somewhat different vegetation and purple particles. Mint Bushes, Purified Roots and End Sprouts are found under the trees. The fog effect in this biome is greenish-blue, and Weeping Vines are hanging on huge Lindigo.
  • Decayed Tyliation
    • A dense end forest with Decayed Tylium and huge Decayed Lindigo. Spoul Spore blocks and Decayed Lindigo are found in patches on the ground, Chorus Bushes, Decayed Roots and Rotting Vines are found under the trees, the fog effect in this biome is purple.
  • End Shore
    • A biome that is slightly different than the End Barrens except the only difference is it extends further towards the middle of the islands, the ground is made of Cracked Endstone and there are End Stalagmites there. There are some Barren Trees and Barren Leaves there.
  • Chorus Forest
    • An uncommon biome that is usually very large, it is a very dense forest of Chorus Trees and Chorus Bushes. Endermen and Spouls are common here. Its fog effect is purple.
  • Chorus Barrens
    • A somewhat more common biome than the Chorus Forest that is usually very large. It features huge Barren Trees, Barren Roots and Barren Leaves. Endermen and Shulkers are common here.
  • Tyliation Fields
    • A version of Purified Tyliation with less huge Lindigo, but there is more Purified Roots. Glowstone and

Black Pig

A new black pig.

Pig

  • Now have 4 new variants: rice, brown, black, and muddy.
  • Brown pigs commonly appear in all taigas, giant tree taigas, giant spruce taigas, and mountains.
  • Black pigs appear in savannas and mountains, but rarely in jungles.

Polar Bear

  • Now drops raw polar bear.
  • When burned, it drops cooked polar bear.
