The Intentional Update was a minor update with a small announcement being made about it. Because of it's release date, everyone thought the update was an april fools update, but it wasn't, and it's changes still stay in the game.
Additions[]
Waxing wood/Petrified wood[]
- You can now use wax on any wood block
- Using wax on wood turns it into waxed wood
- After some time, the wood will turn into petrified wood
- Petrified wood blocks can't be used in crafting
- Petrified wood blocks require a pickaxe for them to be mined
- Petrified wood blocks can't burn
Gamerules[]
- Punishplayertrying
- By default set to false
- When set to false, instead of beds and respawn anchors exploding in dimensions they're not supposed to be in, they instead deny the player's ability to set their spawn point here
- For beds it says "You cannot sleep in this dimension"
- For respawn anchors it says "You cannot use respawn anchors in this dimension"
World Generation Options[]
- Version Generation
- An option set in the "More world options"
- Set to "Latest Version" by default
- Has a list of every minecraft version from 1.3 to the latest version
- When a version is selected, the world will generate as if it's in that version
- Has a "much older" option that displays 1.0 to 1.2, the beta and alpha generations
- Warns the player on using the much older option as it's not as stable as the others
- Custom Worlds
- Custom worlds are back, almost like before, but now with more features
- Has a warning for using custom worlds as they can be unstable
- Can customize other dimensions as well
- Incompatible with the version generation option.
- World height: Sets where the build limit is for the world
- World depth: Sets where the lowest point of the world can be. Generates Caves and so on accordingly
April fools[]
For april fools, although the update itself isn't an april fools joke, it does add some aspects of april fools when it's april fools. Only works for 1.24.5, nothing beyond. All these changes don't effect the actual gameplay. Just how it's viewed. Update 1.24.6 was released shortly after april 1st, and the april fools stuff from the update was removed.
