Chapter 7 - Netherbrick Golem Golem Golem[]
"Hey guys," Robin said, as they were wandering around, avoiding piglins and calling Cyber's name. "Don't you think those boss's last words are always really annoying?"
"Yeah," said Kate. "But save those Potions of Silence for when we actually need them."
"Also, I see a Netherbrick Castle in the distance," Alex chimed in, looking through her spyglass.
"So there's going to be Netherbrick Golems there?" Robin asked, just to indicate he was listening, since he was walking backwards, to make sure no one was following them.
"Netherbrick Golem Golem?" Kate copied.
"Netherbrick Golem Golem Golem?" Steve chimed in. He actually loved this sort of thing, but he was worried about dying when they were fighting Etrenal.
"Netherbrick Golem Golem Golem," Robin sang, turning around.
They kept saying some variation of "Netherbrick Golem" until they reached the fiery Netherbrick Castle.
"Finally!" exclaimed Steve. After hours of walking, they had finally reached the Netherbrick Castle.
Robin carefully sneaked through the doorway, only to almost fall down to a pit of lava.
Kate noticed this. "Be careful!" she said. "You can trigger a trap that can lead to our demise, so seriously."
"Sorry!"
The first room was quite easy. In fact, there was only pitfalls about 5 blocks deep, which were very easy to stack blocks and get out of. They didn't even have cacti at the bottom. But it was just all a way to make players let their guard down.
With Robin's almost-falling-into-trap incident, everyone kept sneaking, to not fall and to watch for any traps. They sneaked and completed the first room, only to find the second room filled with...
"Whoa," Alex gasped. Like Robin, she almost fell, but in the second doorway. And below her, was a floor of Pressure Plates, that, Alex observered, was connected to a Placer which was probably loaded with carved pumpkins and was meant to summon Netherbrick Golems. "Better watch out, everyone! Netherbrick Golems are going to get summoned sooner of later, so be ready!"
Everyone quickly got out their mastered weapons; Recurve Bow for Robin, Iron Sword for Steve, Grappling Hook in main hand and Destroyers in the other for Kate, and a Golden Axe for Alex, respectively.
The plan was for Steve to go and activate one of the pressure plates and then fight the Golems hand-to-hand, as well as Alex, with Robin sniping the monsters and Kate doing weird stuff with her Grappling Hook and Destroyers to fight.
On a count of three, Steve carefully jumped onto one of the Pressure Plates. Sure enough, hidden Placers placed carved pumpkins on top of the weird-looking Netherbrick structure, which instantly summoned Netherbrick Golems.
"Netherbrick Golem Golem Golem," Robin muttered to himself.
Kate overheared Robin. "Not time for that!" she cried, then screamed as one of the Golems launched a fireball at her. Robin quickly threw an abundance of snowballs at her, which not only did put her out of fire, but also made her stumble her way into one of the holes in the first chamber. She got out quickly, but was a bit mad at Robin, so she threw a waterball at him, which made him soaking wet, but accidentally hit Alex as well.
"Not time for that!" Alex screamed as she ducked below a crushing blow from one of the Golems.
Robin and Kate eventually defeated two of the Golems, out of five, putting three remaining. However, Alex almost got killed and Enderpearled out of the Arena (everyone had at least a stack of Ender Pearls in their hotbar, thanks to Kate), making Steve fight three Golems on his own. Robin quickly Enderpearled down, and by then Steve had defeated a Netherbrick Golem, and finally that put the humans to an advantage. Three versus two.
Even the two remaining golems were very weak. They were easily defeated, allowing the players to wander further into the Netherbrick Castle. Robin ran through the Pressure Plated floor and emerged into a new room, one with a chest in the middle. He waited for the others to catch up, then stuck his hand in the chest, and pulled out...
... A normal torch, one that is crafted with a stick and a piece of coal.
"Oh, this is exactly what we've been looking for!" Alex said sarcastically. "Really? This is all we get after all that trouble? Really? This?"
"Apparently," said Steve, quite disappointed.
"Maybe not," said a voice from behind.
