"Maybe more like Soul Sand Cliffs?" - Robin
Chapter 8 - Soul Sand Cliffs[]
Everyone looked behind, to see Cyber holding the real, actual Torch of Fire.
"Cyber!" Kate exclaimed. "Where did you get that?"
"Get what?"
"That torch! Duh!"
"Oh this? Look," Cyber replied, pointing to the block above the Chest in the center. "That's a chest. I got it from there. And I know you will ask this question, 'How did you get past the Golems?' Well, could you not have thought of bridging? Easy."
"Oh," Steve said. He was a bit disappointed that he could not have thought of something so basic.
"Anyways, we have to fight the Soul Keeper for the Torch of Souls," Robin said.
"And don't go off alone this time!" Alex added.
As the group traveled into the nearest Soul Sand Valley, the landscape was a disaster. Robin kept falling over the cliffs. He even died once, but got resurrected by the Totem of Undying he was holding.
"Holy," Robin gasped. "This isn't Soul Sand Valley, it's Soul Sand Cliffs!"
"You're right," replied Alex, only to fall off another cliff, into a pool of lava. Steve quickly poured three buckets of water over the cliff.
"Hey guys! I found a crimson door!" shouted Alex from below.
Kate quickly built a 2 block tall tower and tied one end of a rope to it, and tossed the other down the cliff. Alex started to climb up the rope, but Kate stopped her.
"No, we're going down," Kate explained. "Want to see what's behind the Crimson door,"
"Got it," Alex jumped down from the rope, only to catch fire again. Steve threw half a dozen waterballs at her.
"Oh, come on," Steve said, obviously annoyed. "Can't you climb down the rope like a normal person and not catch yourself on fire?"
Alex ignored him. Robin went down first, but lost his balance mid-way and fell down, but he managed not to catch fire from the lava.
"I mean like, really," Steve grumbled. "Is there a reason you can't properly get to the bottom?"
Kate ignored him and jumped down, and swung on her Grappling Hook and safely reached the bottom.
"So now even Kate doesn't want to use her own rope," Steve mumbled, just loud enough that the others could barely hear him. Still, they heard.
Steve went last, and he actually used the rope to get down without losing balance or toppling over.
"See?" Steve said."Anyone can do what I just did."
Kate walked over to the Crimson Door. "Let's see what's behind this."
"You go first," Robin said.
"Fine."
Kate opened the door, sprinted across the floor and...
.. Fell from the top of a cliff.
"Soul Sand Cliffs again!"
"Guys, I jump over. It's really not that high, and you need to look at this," said Kate from the bottom.
Taking her word for it, Robin sprinted across the ground and jumped. It really wasn't that high, so he only took a heart of damage.
But then he couldn't believe what he saw. It was supposed to be a legend. Only a myth. But here it was, in front of his eyes.
The Great Ancient Soul Fortress.
