Chapter 9 - Souls and Keepers[]
"Steve and Alex! The Great Ancient Soul Fortress is here!" Robin yelled.
"What?!"
"Really! Come down here and look with your own eyes!"
"By the way, where's Cyber?" asked Kate.
"Right here!" a somewhat distant voice shouted. "Just looking around for any incoming dangers. I'm not running off!"
"Good."
"Sorry to tell you this, but I think I have to help my fellow Commanders in the Overworld. I hope it's okay with you!" And with that, without waiting for a reply, he teleported to the Overworld.
"Oh well," sighed Kate. It was going to be way harder without Cyber checking the ground before them.
"Everyone ready?" Then Steve burst into the Great Ancient Soul Fortress.
Steve was immediately attacked by two Wraith guards. He knocked one unconscious and killed the other, but there were way too many others for the four of them to handle, so Alex thought of a great plan. Steve took off the hoodie cape the Wraith was wearing and wore it himself, then equipped a Skleton Head, equipment supplied by Kate, and just hoped he looked like a Wraith enough.
It sure did work. Everyone, including Steve, also took an invisibility potion, and he sure did look like a Wraith. The other real Wraiths took one glance at him and never thought twice. The others hurried behind him, trying not to make any noise.
Within minutes, they got into the main room where the Soul Keeper was supposed sitting around without even having to fight anything.
Taking a deep breath, Steve yelled at the top of his lungs, "I AM STEVE. WE DEMAND THE TORCH OF SOULS!!!!!"
The Soul Keeper literally fell off his chair. "Huh? Where are you? And most importantly, why do you want the Soul Torch?"
"I'm invisible for now. I don't want you killing me. And we want the Torch of Souls to summon the Midnight Fighter and defeat the Witherstorm!" shouted Steve, but this time not at the top of his lungs.
"Oh really? Then show yourself, and I'll give it to you. And no, I'm not scamming. I really hate those black skeletons, and I'll do anything to destroy them," the Soul Keeper's wise voice filled the room.
The Soul Keeper dropped the Soul Torch on the ground, and Alex swiftly picked it up.
"THANK YOU."
Steve quickly took off his Wraith robe and Skeleton head, and whispered to the others to drink more invisibility potions, and hurried out of the Great Ancient Soul Fortress.
"That was easy," said Steve.
"Now what?" Alex asked, holding the Soul Torch in her off-hand.
"Well, we now have to fight the Electrocity," Steve replied, still somewhat blurry from the invisibility effect. The others were now fully recovered from the effects.
"And we have to drink Fire Resistance Potions and practice swinging around in the Basalt Deltas!" Kate said cheerfully.
"Okay," Robin said. "Lets do it."
