Coal Golems are small golems made of coal, they are only 2.3 blocks high, unlike the Iron Golem. Similarly to an iron golem, they resemble villagers and spawn in villages. Coal golems can also sometimes be found accompanying wandering traders.
Coal Golems have 30 health and do 6-7 damage depending on difficulty (they do 6 damage on both hard and easy, while doing 7 damage on medium, making them easier to kill but harder to use defensively). They actively target hostile mobs (excepting creepers) who will also actively attack them.
Being made of coal, they are extremely weak to fire, and will never extinguish naturally. They will avoid fire and attempt to run to the nearest water source if ignited, though they will likely die if attacked by a blaze or other fiery mob. Unlike iron golems, they can swim.
Villages' coal golems will attack any player with a reputation of -15 or less in their village. Killing a coal golem will lower the reputation of the player in that village. As of Minecraft 1.18 onwards, coal golems will also join in Mob Sieges against the player's home if the player enrages a village enough.
