The Deep Void is a vertical biome found below other biomes in the Overworld. It extends from Y -1 to untold depths far beneath the bedrock.
The Deep Void mostly consists of stone and persistent spatterings of bedrock, which can make it difficult to navigate. Tunneling through it will often force the player to veer off course to avoid bedrock clusters.
Most overworld mobs from above Y 0 do not spawn in the Deep Void. Endermen still spawn here, as do slimes and colored slimes in slime chunks. The Red Dinocerous can also be found entombed in amber.
There are numerous mobs unique to the Deep Void; The Luminescent Silverfish is similar to a regular silverfish, but has a different texture and is only found in this area. The Fissure Fiend and Cave Snail are hostile mobs found only here. A variation of the Rockman also spawns here. Passive mobs found in this region are the Cave Fish and Hadal Jellyfish, the former being the only source of food in the Deep Void.
Like the Jungle, the Deep Void has its own fishing loot table - instead of being able to fish up additional items, though, the player is simply unable to catch anything anywhere in the Deep Void by fishing. Additionally, there are no trees (aside from unusable petrified trees) nor coal ore to be found in the deep void, so the player will have to bring all the wood and torches they need with them from another biome. They will also not be able to reliably find Cave Fish to eat, so it's important to bring food from home when travelling here.
Fossils can be found in the Deep Void somewhat commonly. Petrified Trees may also be found here, but are more common in the related Petrified Forest sub-biome.

The Petrified Forest is a biome that consists of frequent hollowed-out caves filled with petrified trees. It has the same mob spawning and fishing loot table as the Deep Void.
