Dread Ducky is an aquatic hostile mob in Minecraft.
Spawning[]
Dread Duckies will only spawn in groups of five in the underground sewers at light level of 7 or lower.
Behavior[]
The Dread Duckies will primarily rely on their camouflage through disguising themselves as one of the fake ducks around the sewer upon spawning. Unlike other hostile mobs, the Dread Ducky will cannot attack the player even if seen, and therefore are completely stationary when entering their camouflaged forms. However, if the player attempt to get way too close to one of the camouflaging Dread Duckies, they will activate themselves and start attacking the player when they see one.
If the Dread Ducky loses the player by 6 blocks feet away from them, they would wander around the environment for a certain period of time before initially returning to their previous camouflaging spot.
During their aggressive state, the Dread Ducky will try to attack and pursue the player at close range by biting at them, dealing 3 - 4 damage. Frequently, the Dread Ducky would also have the ability to launch a long-range projectile attack by extending their inner mouths, revealing a smaller mechanical duck coming out from it, which can both deal a significant damage to the player's health upon contact with it as well as having a 60% chance of inflicting a "Stun" status effect that prevents the player from performing any kind of movement along the way. The player must free themselves from their stun attack by pressing the "F" keyboard key multiple times along the way.
The Dread Ducky's stun attack can also disable the player's shield for a short period of time, much like the Vindicator's axes.
Sometimes, there's a 15% chance that a Dread Ducky will not spawn as a camouflaged Dread Ducky. These Dread Duckies are far more dangerous and unpredictable compared to the regular ones, as they will no longer enter their camouflaging states even after they lose the player and will continue attacking the player when seen, as well as being able to perform their stun attack much quicker and more frequently.
If these types of Dread Ducky got hit by the player with any weapons, it will call in reinforcements in order to protect itself by causing all the nearby disguised Dread Duckies around it to immediately come alive and start pursuing the player once again.
Trivia[]
- The Dread Ducky are a reference to a monster with the same name from Dark Deception.
