Fire Shields are defensive items obtained by defeating the Hovering Inferno. In addition to the high durability and defense, you can inflict the Burning status effect if someone hits you.

The Fire Shield can only be obtained by defeating the Hovering Inferno, as it will always drop at least one upon death. It cannot be crafted, although it can be repaired using two damaged shields in a Crafting Table. It can also be repaired using an Anvil, or with Mending.
