The Hovering Inferno is a boss that spawns in Cursed Edifices and can summon Blazes.
Descrption[]
The Hovering Inferno takes the apperance of a Blaze, but instead of rods, there are four Fire Shields surrounding the boss. In addition, the Hovering Inferno has a bar coming straight down from its head, and the head wears a Ruby Helmet.
Spawning[]
The Hovering Inferno can spawn immediately after a player enters the Throne Room of a Cursed Edifice. From then on it will perform its attacks.
Drops[]
The Hovering Inferno can drop;
- 1-4 Fire Shields
- 1 Ruby Helmet
- 1 Map to the Torch of Fire
It can also can drop a Blaze Head if the killing blow was made by a thrown Creeper Head or a Charged Creeper Head.
The Fight[]
Phase 1[]
Phase 1 starts when a player attacks the Hovering Inferno, or 30 seconds has passed since the first player has enter the Throne Room. In this phase, the Hovering Inferno will perform any of those attacks/actions in random order, and the same attacks/actions can't be repeated two times in a row.
Attacks & Actions[]
- Firestorm - The Hovering Inferno will throw one of its shields around the room, and the before it returns to the boss, the shield will leave a trail of fireballs that will chase the player. Lasts until all of the fireballs have been destroyed.
- Inferno - The Hovering Inferno will burst up into flames, and quickly move toward the nearest player to burn the player. Lasts for 11 seconds.
- Shock Wave - This is a unique attack only performed by the Hovering Inferno. From each of the shields, electricity will start to shoot out, targeting players and damaging them. When the electricity touches the player, the player also is blasted in the opposite direction of the direction from where the electric wave came from. Similar to the attacks of the Electron. Lasts for 6 seconds.
- Smog Wall - The Hovering Inferno will spin around fast and furious, and smoke will fill the room. Every player will get the Smog effect for 15 seconds. Lasts for 10 econds.
- Shield Defence - Will gather up its shields close to its body, and in this state the Hovering Inferno will be invulnerable except for damage to the head from directly up. Action ends when at least 5 blows has been deflected.
- Wave of Pyro - Will summon waves of lava from a random wall, and although the lava summoned won't light players on fire, it will deal damage.
- UFO - Will summon 1-3 UFO of Fire, and the UFOs will attack players. Ends when all of the UFOs has been killed.
- Crushing Fist - The Fire shields will shoot up, and above the Hovering Inferno, they will start spinning, transforming into a giant fist. The fist will target the nearest player, punching the player and dealing
damage (12 damage). Lasts when at least 3 players has been attacked. - Blast 8 - Will create 8 fire balls that ram players and explodes. Ends when all fireballs has exploded or got destroyed.
- Megabolt - Will summon 4 lightning bolts that target players. Ends when all of the bolts has hit a player.
Phase 2[]
Phase 2 is triggered when the Hovering Inferno dips below 130 (x65) health. In this phase, it can summon blazes in its attacks. Ends when Phase 3 (Death Phase) is triggered.
Attacks & Actions[]
- Blazer - Will summon up to 6 Blazes, ends when all of the Blazes has been killed. During this attack, the Hovering Inferno will be invincible, but also won't attack.
- Blast 16 - Very similar to the Blast 8 attack in Phase 1, but instead of 8 exploding fireballs, there will be 16. Attack ends when all of the fireballs have exploded or destroyed.
- Defender Square - Will summon a large, blaze-like square that will attack players like a slime and will split into 4 smaller blaze squares upon death. It can repeat the splitting process four times until truly killed. Ends when the Defender Square is truly killed.
- Electric Summon - Will summon up to 7 Electrons. During this attack, the Hovering Inferno will not attack, but is invincible. Ends when all of the Electrons have been killed.
In addition, all of the attacks and actions from Phase 1 can be done in Phase 2 as well.
Death Phase[]
Death Phase is triggered when the Hovering Inferno reaches 0 Health. The Hovering Inferno will take off its Ruby Helmet, letting it fall beneath him. He will spin around, already his shields starting to crack. He will take one last look of his Edifice. His last words are;
"I am not dead. Not truly. One day, I will come back, and with the true spirits of the flames shall hunt you down. For you that somehow survive, I will personally get my revenge. The spirirts of fire and electric are with me. Next time, you will perish with the last thing you saw will be flames, and you will not see me for the third time. Trust me. For hell with you, I can guarantee that I..."
He will try to say more, but he will vanish in a small explosion, with sparks left behind.
