1.17.2 was a sub update in Minecraft added on February 21st 2022.It added new cave biomes and two new mobs.It released a few months after Caves and Cliffs:Part Two.

This snapshot adds the Lava Wastes, a cave biome generating more commonly under y-0.It contains lava lakes with a few pieces of obsidian and basalt columns scattered around.Magma Cubes spawn in here as well as Skeletons and Spiders.To make up for all this extra danger,diamond have a higher chance to spawn here.

This snapshot adds the Scorched,a type of zombie who spawn in the Lava Wastes cave biome.When killed they drop 0-2 Rotten Flesh.
Takes damage from Ice,Water and Snow
They have 22 HP and they the damge stated below:
Easy:5 HP
Normal:8 HP
Hard : 12 HP

This snapshot adds Smooth Basalt a new type of Basalt which is found in Lava Wastes which has a Polished,Brick and Cracked block variant.

This snapshot adds the new Frost Caverns, a cave biome which generates under snowy biomes and mountains.Ice and Snow commonly generates here along with Strays and Skeletons.

Adds the Frostbitten a type of zombie which freeze the player for 3 seconds.When killed they drop 0-3 Rotten Flesh and Ice Blocks.
Takes damge from fire,lava and ghast fireballs
They have 22 HP and do the damage stated below:
Easy: 4 HP
Normal: 7 HP
Hard: 12 HP
