OvergrownVillage

An overgrown village, in the Deep Woods biome, in the overworld

The Overworld is a huge and diverse dimension filled with many different biomes.

The overworld acts as a transit hub between almost all other dimensions present in the universe. It is usually impossible to travel between any two non-overworld dimensions, and, with certain specific exceptions, attempting to do so will result in the player entering the Twisted Dimension, being killed, or the portal simply not activating.

Exceptional dimensions that are accessed from outside of the overworld include the Ekos Void, accessed from Between-space, and the White Void and Twisted Dimension, which can be accessed from any dimension, but can only return the player to the overworld.

The overworld itself has a complex ecosystem heavily influenced by the presence of a sun (which is not present in the end or nether). The Overworld is generally divided into oceans, garden terrain (IE: forests, grasslands, mushroom fields), deserts, snowy areas, and mountainous regions, though there are some special and rare biomes scattered about as well. There is a great diversity in the mobs and blocks that can be found in the overworld, and many are highly dissimilar to eachother.

Biomes[]

(Many variants (such as Gravelly Mountains or Swamp Hills) are not listed independently unless they have a particular outstanding difference from the base biome)

Mobs[]

Pig

Pigs are among the most common overworld mobs on land

The overworld is home to a huge variety of mobs, many of which are exclusive to certain biomes and regions. In comparison to the nether or end, there is a large degree more diversity in mobs depending on elevation and landscape in the overworld.

Individual pages on biomes contain more comprehensive lists. The Mob Siege page also lists a large volume of hostile mobs for most overworld biome types.

The overworld's oceans and landscapes alike are teeming with life, passive, neutral, and hostile alike. Among the most common land mobs are probably the pig, cow, sheep, zombie, skeleton, creeper, and spider, which can all be found in most of the land biomes. In colder biomes, though, skeletons are replaced by strays, while zombies are less common compared to husks in hot, dry, desert areas.

Cod

The overworld's oceans are full of life, such as this cod

In the oceans of the overworld, the most common mobs are the drowned and fish. The latter has many varieties, including cod, salmon, and tropical fish. Other ocean-going mobs include the Grubber, as well as the Turtle, which shores itself on beaches along with the Tide Pool Worm.

In the dimension's more overgrown forests, woodlands, and swamps dwell creatures such as Witches, Termites, Poison Crawlers, Snare Vines, and the Reclaimed.

Hostile mobs such as the Rockmen and Silverfish lie in wait in the overworld's more mountainous regions and highlands, alongside more peaceful denizens such as llamas and Goats.

In addition to a great difference between biomes, life also varies between different altitudes. High in the atmosphere dwell reclusive flying mobs such as the Skiron, beneath them the low-flying mobs such as Wasps Bees, Creeper Head Swarms, and the vicious Creepowl.

Just beneath the ground are small digging mobs such as the Driller. Deep below the surface dwell mobs such as the bat, cave spider, Luminescent Silverfish, Deep Angler, and the Cave Fish.

Scout Phantoms are large phantoms that only appear in the Phantom Army challenge, They are also boss mobs,To spawn it outside of the challenge, Build it with Phantom Heads and Wither Skeleton skulls, Use the skulls to form the body, Place the Phantom head in front of the body last or it will not spawn..

Imperialism of Illagers[]

Creatures of the Overworld in Imperialism of Illagers are mostly the same as in the original Minecraft. However there are also additional creatures. The first is the Proboscis Monkeys, the ancestor of all humanoids in the Overworld. Then there's the Molefolks, human relatives who live underground and has developed vibration-sensitive ears, though at the cost of lowered sight. High in the mountains, the Wingidons patrol the sky, using their sharp eagle eyes to spot prey to be hunted or enemies. Their hands have modified into wings, though they still possess prehensile claws to manipulate objects. And finally, swimming through the vast seas, are the Cetosapiens, sapient relatives of the dolphins.
