Players are a species distinctly related to humans and metahumans within Hestion and Sad's Fanon. Their principal qualities, some of which are implied in CotV Chapter Nine, are as follows:
- A type of inventory in which most things can be stored. This inventory has little current scientific theory, and appears to be a form of pocket dimension.
- The ability to reanimate themselves upon death at the place where they last rested.
- "Player-vision", or the viewing of the world as a three-dimensional series of "blocks" instead of as a put-together reality.
