Chapter 2 - For Element Electricity[]
~ 2,100 Years Later ~
Marty was chilling out on his apartment's roof (The residents had full access to it), drinking some weird drink he got at the supermarket but tasted delicious. He was looking at the glass buildings of Downtown LA when something caught his eye. He saw something move. After looking around for a few seconds, he just shrugged it off.
It was a mistake. Something was hurtling at him. One of the Shards. The Electric one. Seconds later, the Shard stabbed Marty's left shoulder. Totally taken by surprise, he dropped his drink. He was soon electrocuted and sprawled on the floor, unconscious.
"He seems to be aslee... nope, he's awake now!"
When Marty woke up, he was in a hospital bed. He didn't know exactly what happened, but his head hurt. A lot. He must have hurt his head. He glanced at his hand. It flashed a electric shock. It was only for a moment, but his sharp eyes didn't miss it.
"How are you doing?" the doctor said suddenly. Surprised, Marty jumped. "Relax. Your heart rates and everything are normal now. Rest a bit, and you can go home in about an hour. I'll visit you again when your ready." Then the doctor left the room, as well as the nurse.
Marty observed his hand again. Nothing abnormal. Then a flash. Then another, Then a bolt shot out. He tried to control those bolts and flashes. He willed electricity to obey him, and they did. Experimenting, he shot a blast across the room. Instead of disappearing, though, the electricity formed into a ball... No, a humanoid figure. Then, to Marty's surprise, it spoke to him.
"Marty?" the figure asked. All Marty could do was a weak nod. "Good. I am the humanoid form of the Electricity Elemental. I'm pretty sure you are confused about this entire thing, so I'll explain everything for you. When did the doctor said he'll return? An hour? We have plenty of time to talk.
"Remember the glass piece that stabbed your shoulder? There are 5 Shards, and each one of them has a unique ability. Fire, Ice, Earth, Wind, and yours, Electricity. The exact moment the Electric Shard stabbed you, somewhere in the world, five people were stabbed on the exact same spot; your left shoulder. I have no idea how the Shards were formed, they just were. Hey, everyone forgets stuff! Anyways, the people who were stabbed... They get our powers. Don't worry, it isn't like we fade away or something, because we're virtually immortal. The five Human Elementals.... I've been told that if they each other at the same time, Earth is going to shatter and break. Well, I don't want Earth to shatter, since I find it a very interesting planet. Good luck. And, if you want me to show up again, just send a bolt while thinking of me appearing in front of you. This was way shorter than I expected our conversation to be. Bye!" And the Electric Elemental vanished.
In about an hour, as the doctor said, another doctor came to tell him that he can leave anytime.
"How's your shoulder feeling?" he asked.
Marty looked at the doctor in the eye, and the doctor almost fainted. "Your eye..." he gasped.
"What's wrong with my eye?" Marty asked, a bit annoyed. A thought came to his mind that he will have to stay at the hospital.
"Nothing," he replied, although it was obvious that he was hiding something. "You can go home now."
They reached the front door of the hospital and Marty went to his apartment room.
When he reached his house, he immediately checked his reflection in the mirror. Nothing wrong with him.... No. Something was wrong with him. His eyes. They were... Electric Yellow. Then he remembered his abilities. Was it affecting his eyes? It must be. Marty just shrugged the entire yellow eye thing off.
Marty looked through his Protector Weapon Set. He worked as a Protector, one of the rarest and most respected jobs. As Protector, he hunted Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, Creepers, or anything that spawned in the city that is a threat. In order to keep Phantoms from spawning, they were all required to sleep once in three days, no less and no more. He had already taken that break last night at the hospital, so now he was looking for something to use.
The Bow was Marty's favorite weapon, but for the reason of his injured shoulder, he couldn't use that. The thought of using his Electricity Powers had crossed his mind, but his instincts told him not to, so he trusted his instincts.
The doorbell rang. Marty opened the door... And was instantly attacked by a spike of ice.
