The skiron is a hostile cloud-like mob found exclusively extremely high up in the sky. The skiron blasts the player with cold white wind particles (similar to the Enderdragon's breath), dealing 2 damage and a lot of knockback. The skiron's breath also redirects projectiles, such as arrows, back towards the player.
The skiron has narrow, squinted, angry eyes and a zig-zagging mouth, though its texture changes to make its mouth open when it blows out frigid air. The skiron is unaffected by gravity, and smart enough to actively avoid getting in the player's reach, making it very difficult to hit with a melee weapon.
The skiron can be defeated most easily either by using a ranged weapon, in which case you must time you attacks so as to avoid having the arrows blown back on you, or by reeling the skiron in with a fishing rod and slashing it. The skiron is notably immune to fire, and can heal itself by touching water.
The skiron has only a meager 5 health, so it should not take long to defeat once you're able to get in close, even without a proper weapon. However, though the skiron only does 2 damage, it is usually only encountered very high up, and can push the player to their death hundreds of blocks below using its high knockback breath attack.
The skiron only spawns at Y 250 and higher elevations. As mobs spawn within 144 blocks (but not within 24 blocks) of the player, a player needs to be at at least 102 elevation to start spawning skirons. Even then, skirons are very rare, and there's no guarantee they'll come down to the surface.
In most biomes the overworld, Skirons are usually only encountered by players building things in the sky. Occasionally, they may be encountered in the extreme hills or, more likely, jungle mountains, if the player climbs to the top of a jungle tree growing out of the top of a mountain. Skirons are also common sights in vertically high biomes such as the cloud forest and void island biomes.
Additionally, skirons are one of the only mobs to spawn naturally in the Upside-Down Dimension, though they remain rare.
If the player has a bed at a very high-up altitude, following the 1.18 update, skirons may spawn during Mob Sieges.
