The swamp snapper is a hostile giant turtle mob found, as the name suggests, in swamps. The swamp snapper deals a large amount of damage and has 40 health, plus 10 armor points. Swamp snappers can both swim in the water and crawl on land to harass the player.
Thanks to their durable armor, swamp snappers are a difficult opponent for even a well-equipped player. Swamp snappers are large enough to be unable to fit into tight spaces, and are not smart, making them easily trapped. Swamp snappers are also weak to the crossbow's piercing enchantment.
The swamp snapper spawns rarely in any swamp variety, but spawns more frequently during mob sieges introduced in Minecraft 1.18.
