Termites are hostile arthropod mobs that infest logs. Termites are very similar to silverfish, but though termites have more health and deal more damage, they aren't as fast and don't have as big of "veins" of infested blocks, meaning they're usually encountered in smaller numbers.
Termites have cream-colored bodies made of two segments, with a brownish head and two black mandibles, along with three pairs of black legs. Termites do not spawn naturally anywhere in Minecraft, but instead are spawned from infested blocks, formerly known as monster eggs. Termites can infest any variety of log (including shaved logs) in the game, but do not infest wooden planks or other wood-derived blocks such as fences, pressure plates, doors, etc.
Termites have 12 health and deal 4 damage, and like other arthropods, are weak to the bane of arthropods enchantment. Like silverfish, termites cannot swim well and will most likely die if they become submerged in water.
Termites can be found most prominently in the deep woods biome. Additionally, they are one of the only mobs found in the Upside-Down Dimension.
