When you enter the Nether, it's mostly tame, with only 3 dangerous mobs. However, if you build a bridge over lava, you will be besieged by these flying, burning pests: The Dervishes.
Description[]
The Dervish spawn in groups of 3-6 (Called a Maneuver or Flash) in the Nether. They are flying mobs that are, basically, the Phantoms of the Nether.
Their body is flesh-red in colour, with white bone-like spines on its back and wings. Its face is featureless, except for a large red eye that burns with a hellish flame.
Combat strategy, Stats and Drops[]
Drops: Dervish Meat, Dervish Oil
Health: 7 Hearts
Attack Strategy: The Dervish ignites itself and divebombs the target, dealing 2 hearts of damage and lights the target on fire for 6 seconds.
Dervish Meat: If eaten, it will burn the player for 5 hearts of damage.
Dervish Oil: if used in potion-brewing, creates a Potent Potion of Fire Resistance (Fire heals you while under the affects of the potion, while water, rain, and snow/ice damages you rapidly).
